National Drug Authority Approves COVIDEX As Supporting Treatment For Covid

The Uganda National Drug Authority has finally approved the use of COVIDEX as supporting treatment for Covid. Not only for Covid but all other viral infections. This herbal medicine has been on market for sometime but it had not yet been approved by either NDA or MOH.

However there has been an outcry from the public especially those who have been using it. Many have testified of its use and quick help faster than all other drugs recommended for covid.

This announcement was made by Dr. David Nahamya, the secrerary of UNDA.

The National Drug Authority had however told the public that this drug had not gone through the right process. Apparently, it didn’t go through all the procedures and tests as other drugs should.

This is why they have been reluctant to approve it. However today, UNDA came out and approved the use of this drug. Whether it has been out of pressure or they actually did some tests on it for them to approve it, we are not yet sure.

This announcement has been greatly celebrated by many Ugandans. According to them, this could be a game changer in the treatment of Covid.

“Good for the start, now they should subsidize it and promote it starting with their website.”

Now that COVIDEX has been approved, government should look at regulating the prices of this on the market. Otherwise, we are going to see abnormal prices attached to it which will not be helpful.

A price should be attached to protect consumers and allowed everyone have access to it.
