He went on his social media platform and posted this opinion that attracted a lot of attention.
‘I’m convinced that Covidex is a product of @MbararaUST not Prof Ogwang.” he tweeted.
He posted this just hours before the professor had been scheduled to appear for an interview on NBS. Most of the people from the public have named him unprofessional after this.
One of his social media followers asked him the reason for inviting Prof Patrick Ogwang and not Mbarara. However, Simon reluctantly answered this claiming he is going to learn more from the professor.
Some of the people said it’s wrong for him to make his opinion public given the circumstances.
“Ethically and professionally, it is wrong to make public your opinion or conviction on a matter when you’re meant to host someone who’s an authority on the same matter. Prof Ogwang will be on your show in less than 10 hours from now, why don’t you reserve your conviction for him?” A one John Tulinawe commented.
This or more has been the reason why the professor declined to appear for the interview on NBS. Apparently, when the NBS team reached his home this morning, through the professor’s personal assistant, he said he was stopped from speaking with any media house.
What this means, we clearly don’t know yet.
