NMS Restricts Entry For Staff And Visitors To Vaccinated Personnel Only

National Medical Stores (NMS) has directed that no staff or visitors will be allowed to access the premises if not fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

Sheila Nduhukire, the Public Relations Officer communicated this through a statement. She said it is a measure to curb the spread of the disease.

They have made it a mandate for all staff and visitors of the NMS  fully vaccinated. This is before they can access the facility or its premises.

‘’As a government agency mandated to buy, store and distribute medicines including Covid-19 vaccines, we are leading by example and ensuring that all of our staff and visitors coming to our premises are fully vaccinated to comply with the president’s directive on full covid-19 vaccination.’’

‘’We, therefore, expect all our staff and visitors to comply with these new measures to avoid any inconveniences,’’ she said.

The new directive according to NMS comes into effect immediately. For the visitors, it comes into effect on Monday, October 18, 2021.

The Government of Uganda, so far has received 5,690,363 Covid-19 doses, of which it has administered 2,378,171 doses countrywide. At least 2,080,594 are currently in distribution across the entire country.

Ministry of Health earlier this week said the reason behind the small number of vaccinated people is the slow rate of access to the vaccines.
