The CS said that they will require Kenyans to have proof of vaccination for admission into hotels, bars, restaurants, parks among other places. They will initiate the requirement starting December 21.
Apparently, they will grant access to only those fully vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca shots.
In addition to those, people who have received one shot of the Janssen jab will access Govt services or travel across the country.
‘’I want to let Kenyans know that next month, drivers, and boda boda riders will be required to ask that you show proof of being vaccinated before you can travel,’’ said Mr. Kagwe.
He said everyone in the travel industry should get the vaccine and carry proof at all times.
Furthermore, Mr. Kagwe said all travelers to Kenya will have to carry a Covid-19 vaccine certificate.
Kenya has now joined Iran, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Israel in imposing strict measures in the fight against the pandemic.
To accelerate the vaccination drive, the country’s government will also undertake a 10-day mass vaccination exercise. This will run from November 26 with an aim of administering adequate jabs to as many people as possible.
