Some candidates are claiming that up to now the voters registers not yet out. Hon Muyanja Mbabaali, Member of Parliament Bukoto County South even claimed that some people are keeping the registers in their homes. “The voter register is not displaying well the names of those that are out.”
Hon. Muyanja warns that if they don’t resolve this problem early enough, the party will lose many candidates. These candidates will go independent due to lack of trust in the results of the primaries. It always has a great impact on the party since it brings about disunity.
These primaries are always a reflection of what will happen in the national elections. The party primaries involve too much chaos, it’s hard to guarantee a peaceful nation-wide elections with an already shaky root.
Its already hard enough to do politics in this season due to COVID-19. The costs are higher and the freedom is limited, especially if rallies are to be held with all the SOPs in place. The least the political parties can do is to be more organized. Their candidates should only worry about how to get votes.
