Ntare was closed due to a riot that started up after a mob was tried to be carried out on two students allegedly practicing homosexuality within the school.
However, the administrators at the school have denied the allegations of homosexuality and said that the students wanted to punish their colleagues for stealing uniforms and school sweaters.
“Two students were picked from Creighton House accused of stealing students property and the dormitory members wanted to forcefully punish them but information leaked to us and they were blocked by the teachers,” said Mr. Jimmy Turyagyenda the head master of Ntare.
Candidate classes only stayed at school to finalize their mocks but the rest of the school was sent home and the suspended students are to pick their end of term reports on Friday.
According to daily monitor, anonymous students narrated that it all started when two boys were caught engaging in unnatural sex in Creighton House.
When the students attacked the duo some teachers intervened and took them away and were later suspended. But students were not satisfied with the administration’s action against the two.
Students preferred that all those students that were suspected to be practicing homosexuality should be suspended but the school did not do as the students wished which made the students against the practice to be furious which resulted into the protest.
This prompted the teachers to seek police intervention. The situation at the school remained tense throughout the night and Wednesday morning. At some point police permeated tear gas to disperse the furious students
