Through a statement, the NWSC revealed that water supply at Ggaba 3 water treatment plant has been closed off to handle an emergency fault.
According to the Thursday statement, the most affected areas include Nakasero, City Center, Kololo areas along Portbell road up to Bugolobi. Other areas are Mukwano, 5th and 6th street, Kanyanya, Nabweru, Kawempe Mbogo and the surrounding areas.
In addition, the statement also indicated that this will affect Muyenga service area, Acacia Avenue, Wandegeya, Namirembe, Mengo, Makerere, Kawempe, among other areas.
A team of specialized engineers is apparently on the ground working vehemently to complete works. They will restore water supply in the shortest time possible.
NWSC indicated that the work will last about 18hrs. They, therefore, advise customers to store enough water and use it sparingly.
In similar news previously reported by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, residents in Yumbe have decried the lack of a source of clean water at Yumbe Health Centre IV. According to the patients and their carers at the facility, they pay shs500 daily for borehole water meant for the community.
They even alleged that at times, they find the borehole locked when they come to fetch the water. Apparently, the hygiene and sanitation at the health centre IV are alarming due to the lack of water to wash away the dirt.
