Nyakatare Primary School in Kanungu experienced a wonderful day yesterday after receiving a graceful donation. In the past, Dr James Musinguzi Garuga pledged to give the school iron sheets and he followed through on the promise.
He pledged to give the school 100 iron sheets to contribute towards the reconstruction of a classroom block that recently got destroyed by a hailstorm.
This disaster also left a number of other structures in the area destroyed. It also destroyed crops, the maternity ward at Katate Health Centre IV, Kanungu FM building and radio mast, and several other structures.
When he received the news, Dr. Musinguzi promised 100 iron sheets. These were delivered on Monday morning at a colourful ceremony on Nyakatare Primary School grounds.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, the Rt Rev Dan Zoreka, gave a speech at the ceremony. He used this opportunity to thank all people who have contributed to the reconstruction of the classroom block that was destroyed.
In particular, he appreciated Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga for fulfilling his pledge. This will ensure the completion of the building in time.
The building is currently ready for roofing since the beam has been reconstructed and wooden bars placed accordingly. They are now waiting for the iron sheets. It is expected that pupils will be able to use it next term.
