Organise Elections For New Leaders Of UMA – Musicians To Cindy

Musicians under their umbrella Uganda Musicians Associations (UMA), have told Cindy to organize for elections because her term ran out already. Musicians say the elections have been long overdue but their president doesn’t seem to have noticed this yet.

Cindy Sanyu, musician and President of UMA has not yet said a word about these elections. It’s almost impossible to go on with these elections without her giving them a go-ahead.

UMA has been having a lot of drama for a long time. Ykee Benda was the initial President however, he resigned due to what he called a lot of nonsense among fellow musicians.

Cindy who was the vice president automatically had to become President. However, most entertainers have accused her of doing almost nothing for them in her reign as President.

A few months ago, Chameleone formed his own association. He however said, his was strictly for legends. UMA had come out to say all other associations should come under it which did go well.

Many artistes say during the pandemic, UMA had to fight for them but they didn’t do a thing which threw many artists out of the business.

Now that there is a chance to get new leaders, some see it as an opportunity to change the run.

Meanwhile, Cindy is currently heavy with her second child probably part of the reason she is quiet. However, there is a vice President who can run business in her absence.
