She said this minutes after she signed the condolence book in honour of the fallen speaker.
Kadaga said Oulanyah did a lot in uniting, reconciling and recruiting the people of northern Uganda into the National Resistance Movement ( NRM).
“I want to thank him for the support and cooperation for over the ten years [Kadaga’s tenure] not only at the local level with the national assembly but also in other areas. We shall miss him. He was a great leader and he really enjoyed his work and he was very committed,” said Kadaga.
Kadaga recognized the fallen speaker as a person who represented Uganda on different international forums. Some of these include the Great Lake Region conference, The African Caribbean Pacific and European Union among others.
Kadaga was criticized by a number of people because she contended with Oulanyah for the speakership role.
Even in her tweet when the speaker had just passed on, some people lashed out at her. She had apparently written the rest in peace in her piece.
“At this trying moment, I send sincere condolences to the children, the mother, and other members of Rt Hon Oulanyah s family. As well as friends and relatives The NRM party, the Parliament, and the Country have lost a key leader Condolences to HE the President,” her tweet read.
Meanwhile, the body of the fallen speaker will reach the country on Friday.
