Parents, Political And Religious leaders in Kasese have been challenged to get time and lecture children about the dangers of homosexuality. Kasese District National Resistance Movement flag bearer Hon. Sarah Ithungu Baleke sounded this call.
She made the call at the fundraising event of Buhungamuyagha Anglican church of Uganda. The church aimed this fundraising towards construction of another church block where children would be taught.
Hon. Baleke said parents play a key role in making sure the homosexuality Vice doesn’t take over children’s minds.
She further warned parents against allowing strangers to take their school going children to give them ‘bursaries’ that may lead to other outcomes.
As the chief guest at the ceremony, Baleke contributed Ugx 500.000 towards the construction of the new church block. She also urged Christians to constantly support church projects.
In the report read by the Church’s secretary, Charles Kendakenda, the church needed over Shs11 million to construct the block. The new block will serve as the Sunday school block and will also double as a school.
However, Joackim Siwako, the area local council one chairperson hinted on another issue. He told Baleke that the area is suffering with challenges of unsafe and unclean water. According to Siwako, this issue has led to increased cases of illness especially typhoid.
Regardless though, Siwako appreciated Baleke’s efforts for her continued support towards construction of local bridges in the area.
