The challenge comes from Tororo County South MP Fredrick Angura. He has challenged the government days after one of the twin bombings went off close to the parliament.
He said that when the explosion happened, many legislators had no evacuation plan to safety. Many MPs scattered in all directions, which is very dangerous.
This is true because if the terrorist targeted specific individuals, this would have them exposed in the open. And it would be easier to harm them since the inside of the parliament is almost impossible to access.
Tuesday’s explosions were the latest in a string of attacks in Uganda which has tightened security.
Authorities have also intensified investigations into the bombings with President Museveni vowing to defeat “the terrorists”.
So far, the investigations have led to the arrest of over 20 individuals and authorities have killed five.
