40 Passengers Survive Burning Jaguar Bus

About 40 people who were travelling in a Jaguar bus have survived death when it  caught fire.

The bus belonging to Jaguar Bus Company caught fire at Nyakabande Air strip in Kisoro District on Monday.

Kisoro District Police Commander, Mr Charles Patrick Okoto said that the incident happened at about 7:30 am. Jaguar was heading for Kisoro town from Kampala.

“Passengers’ luggage was burnt but no single passenger got injured,” he said.

He said the fire was caused by the resultant friction after one of the rear tyres bust.

He also said the bus wreckage would be taken to Kisoro Police Station for inspection as investigations start.
