Pastor Ssempa Cautions Ugandan Men About Afghan Women

Makerere Community Church leader, Pastor Martin Ssempa came out to caution Ugandan men about Afghan women who will land in the country as refugees soon.

The pastor said he has heard news that Ugandan men are eagerly waiting for these women. Pastor Ssempa however cautioned these men not to take advantage of these refugees.

Ever since the government announced that Uganda will be providing refuge to about 2,000 Afghans, the talk in town and social media has been about these refugees. People have created memes and jokes of all kinds everywhere especially about Afghan women.

He added that God’s word calls upon humanity to help one another in case of dire conditions.

The vocal pastor advised men to help these women without expecting anything in return before reminding them that marriage is sacred.

“I want to remind you all that marriage is an agreement that shouldn’t be broken. I have heard marriages are in trouble and some women are already scared. The Bible however tells us to help all those in need like orphans, widows and refugees. So, don’t take advantage because you are expecting love but help them genuinely.” Pastor Ssemoa said.

The pastor also said that Ugandan men should not be like UN officials in Haiti and DRC who use money to lure women. He called this sexual exploitation.

The pastor further said that he has an association called “Uganda Kwanaring Association” that teaches men how to woo women for marriage.
