They said she represents the youth and they are the ones fighting for the future.
Phiona Nyamutoro wasn’t well known in the media when she became the youth preventative in parliament. Her fame came around when she was introduced as the wife of famous singer Eddy Kenzo.
That was after she was appointed as a minister early this year.
Being a wife to a celebrity, Nyamutoro got at ease to catch up with the youth using social media but it was surprising that she didn’t say anything in yesterday’s protest.
Ugandans X said that they can’t believe that she represents them in parliament and won’t join them when they need her the most.
“Nyamutoro represents the youth in parliament, she’s now in bed with Kenzo dancing stamina when the youth need her the most 🤦🏾♂️ #March2Parliament,” a post on X reads.
It should be noted that those who support the ruling party NRM were against the protest. President Museveni had warned the protesters telling them they are playing with fire.
As a member and supporter of NRM, Minister Nyamutoro distanced herself from the protest. This left her supporters who happen to be protesters very angry.
