The wedding is scheduled for tomorrow at Christ’s Cathedral, Bugembe in Jinja City.
Mr James Mubi, the Kiira regional police spokesperson said they are very ready to host all invited guests.
These include international guests and very important persons (VIPs) in Uganda. The police said they are ready and expect no disruptions.
“The focus is in line with the terror threats; as police, we plan for the worst and those are terror threats. In the just-concluded Nyege Nyege Festival, we were successful and the president was appreciative. We are not taking any minus, but adding up,” he said yesterday.
Mr. Mubi also said they are ready to work with multiple security agencies. This includes UPDF, Military Police and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
“All those components are working to achieve a common goal of having a successful Royal wedding,” he said.
Furthermore, he said they have tightened security on all government installations like the bridges and the Jinja-Iganga highway.
In the day’s traffic plan, the President, Kyabazinga and the Queen will use the Cathedral road. Some other roads and junctions connecting to the kingdom quarters will be closed to motorists.
VIPs will use Katende Road and park at Busoga Kingdom headquarters and be transported to and from the cathedral.
