Promoter Juma Balunywa Draga Fellow Promoter Nobert To Police

The rift between promoters seems to be deepening with each day that goes by and now Promoter Juma Balunywa has dragged a fellow promoter, Nobert to court. It should be recalled that there are two factions of Promoters. There is the National Promoters Association (NPA) which has most of the biggest and veteran Promoters. Then there is also another faction known as Ump-net which disagrees with NPA.

The disagreements became so vivid during the COVID-19 pandemic when these met the government. It’s said that the money they were given brought about the disagreements.

While at Simba FM Balunywa and Nobert got involved in an exchange. This resulted in assault and it all ended with Police. Balunywa says that as they were coming out of Simba premises, Nobert punched him. He didn’t retaliate and decided to run to Police to sort this out.

“We were exiting Simba FM after a program and I was trying to explain some things to him. I think he lost his cool and he punched me. As a man of my age and experience, I didn’t retaliate. I decided to hand the issues to law enforcers,” said Balunywa.

However, Promoter Nobert on the other hand had a totally different recollection of what happened. He said that their altercation happened inside the studios. Balunywa couldn’t handle the facts that he (Nobert) was telling him. According to Nobert he told him something in their exchange that might have irked him. This forced Promoter Juma Balunywa to jump into Nobert’s throat and try to strangle him. Balunywa was however restrained and Nobert also didn’t hit back.

From his further recollection, Balunywa was led outside to calm down. He however used this opportunity and sneaked away to Police to file a complaint. Nobert is however confident that CCTV footage in the area will exonerate him.
