Prynce Joel Okuyo Reveals Why He Was Banned From Acting For Eight Years

Dancehall songstress Cindy Sanyu’s husband actor Prynce Joel Okuyo Atiku has revealed reasons why he was banned from acting for eight years.

He revealed this while on the NTV morning show Mwasuze Mutya. Prynce has been in the film industry for more than 30 years.

The actor said he started acting at the age of 6 as he started school. He has also won multiple awards in his acting career. However, in 2012 he got some issues that slowed him down in acting.

He was accused of human trafficking and unfortunately, the organizations that he used to work with believed the accusations. They stopped him from acting and even doing any other role behind cameras like directing or filming.

For eight years, he wasn’t active in acting and he was already thinking about joining the army.

Fortunately, when he was taken to court, they found him not guilty. This helped him to get back to acting. That is the period he met his wife Cindy Sanyu and they fell in love.

“While in court battling the false accusations of human trafficking against me, I was blacklisted by most of the organizations I used to work for. However, I eventually won the case, and I slowly began to reintegrate into the workforce by taking on some acting roles,” he said.

It should be noted that Cindy and her husband Prynce Joel Okuyo have two children together, a boy and a girl.
