The Queen was appointed by lawyers and some members of the royal family after they had a meeting. The royal family is going to observe a three month period of mourning. After this time, the issues of the successor will be discussed as well. Meanwhile, one of the chiefs said they really need to mourn the King.
“The loss of His Majesty, the king, has been a tremendous blow and the family must be allowed to grieve,” chief Buthelezi said.
Perhaps Zulu is not so shocked about the Queen’s appointment because of her history. She held the greatest status among all the King’s wives because she came from royalty. She is the sister of Eswatini’s King Mswati III. Her eldest son is 47, expected to be King out of the eight children she has.
