He posted about it on social media saying he signed off the AU application document and he is hoping for the best.
Odinga with his followers started speaking about contesting in the African Union after he lost the elections. They had previously expected him to at least get some office in the government of Ruto.
Unfortunately, he didn’t, and right now, he holds no office, the only position he is awaiting is the AU chairperson seat.
“I signed off my AU Chair application documents, we are focused on bringing the seat home for Kenya and serving the African people,” he tweeted.
Some Kenyans are warning him that he is going to lose. He shouldn’t be contesting to avoid the shame of losing again.
They apparently want Raila Odinga to keep fighting alongside GenZ’s so that William Ruto can resign. Despite all these negative comments, Odinga is determined to bring the AU chairperson seat to Kenya.
“For the first time I say, may you be defeated by January with a BIG margin. Those in agreement REPOST until he sees we aren’t buying his sympathy shenanigans,” a follower tweeted.
It should be noted that Odinga has contested for the presidency several times and lost. He contested against former President Uhuru Kenyatta twice and lost.
Then he most recently contested against William Ruto, Uhuru’s former deputy, and still lost. It might therefore be right to think that the only position that befits Odinga is the AU chair and not the Kenyan presidency.
