President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed Kenyans and said that as leaders, they must all strive to prioritize the needs of Kenyan people. This is why his brother Raila Odinga and him came together to promote unity and continue with their country’s development agenda, adding that politics should not be above the needs of Wananchi.
President Kenyatta said,’’they have agreed, that they will unite in the war against corruption. The corrupt belong in jail regardless of their tribe, and they will continue to support their institutions to bring to book everyone who is culpable.
It is our duty as leaders to ensure that every Kenyan is included in our development agenda. This includes affordable healthcare, connection to electricity, proper education, improved infrastructure, food security and more job opportunities,’’he said.
For Raila Odinga joining Kenyatta in such an initiative is a sign of patriotism.
Kenyan politics is a bit different from that of Uganda. The opposition and those of the ruling party are just like enemies, they actually can’t join up together to unite Ugandans, like it’s done in Kenya. For example yesterday when president Museveni was addressing the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue ( IPOD ) summit which took place at Speke Resort Munyonyo, the FDC seats were empty, what does that indicate?
