MR Ray Burton Reportedly Dead

Sad news that reached our desk indicates that Ray Burton, the father of the late METALLICA bassist Cliff Burton, finally lost his life on Wednesday, 15th January at the age of 94. Though he died a few days ago, it has been announced publicly today.

However, this sad news was confirmed by Connie Burton, Ray Burton’s daughter and Cliff’s big sister. She announced his death yesterday in the evening via her Facebook platform.

“To let you all know that my Dad died last Wednesday,” she wrote.

At first, many people around the World were shocked and couldn’t believe it but because of his age, they had to believe that indeed he was tired.

“We are saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Ray Burton. Our condolences to the entire Burton family. Hug Cliff for us. RIP” Sources confirmed.

Ray Burton went out of his way to lend his blessing to each of his son’s successors, beginning with Jason Newsted, who joined Metallica in October 1986 and continued with the band up to 2001.
