Rev Tugumehabwe, the man whose wife had an affair with retired Archbishop Stanley Ntagali, has demanded shs.530 million in damages from the retired Archbishop.
The reverend is accusing Ntagali of eloping with Judith Tukamuhabwa, his wife.
Rev Tugumehabwe, through his lawyers, says that whereas he and his wife got married in December 2018, he has discovered that the love affair of his wife and Ntagali resulted in a child.
For this very reason, he encouraged his wife to seek divorce which goes against church values.
“It has also come to our client’s knowledge that you encouraged, advised and ensured that our client’s wife petitions for divorce. We have also recently learnt from various media platforms of the fact that you admitted to having committed an offence of adultery with our client’s wife. In addition, we have overwhelming video and audio evidence in proof the same,” the lawyers say.
What the evidence says;
It is currently clear to everyone that Ntagali confessed to eloping with a married woman. According to the letter of intention to sue, the confession is enough evidence to pin Ntagali in the pending court case. Therefore, that in order to avoid going to court, he ought to pay the fines.
“Your unbecoming, sinful and unlawful conducts have occasioned our client general damages. This to with- loss of dignity, marriage break down. Stress, trauma, embarrassment, loss of privacy. And loss of his job as a lecturer at Bishop Barham University college. And minimal chances to rise in the clergy ranks,” the letter further said.
The retired Archbishop got an ultimatum of 14 days to meet these fines. He risks a court case and will face further embarrassment or possible time in jail.
