The loyal attendees at the church said its headquarters did not address all their efforts to get back these funds. They held fellowships outside the church for a while as they waited for the parish to do something.
Reports apparently say some of the congregants even wrote numerous letters to the headquarters. However, though, their letters only fell on “deaf ears” as the church headquarters have remained silent over the issue.
The faithful added that the very reverend occasionally faced accusations of immorality by different people.
It is, however, still unclear how much the reverend took from the church coffers as they did not disclose the amount. They also did not mention the police’s involvement in the recovery of the funds.
Similarly, in December 2021, congregants of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) from Imara Daima protested. Their reason for the protests was the mismanagement of funds by church leadership. They said the construction took too long yet they had availed the funds already.
“We make contributions every weekend to improve this substandard church building. However, when it is time for the church building to be renovated, we are told that there is no money,” one of the congregants lamented.
