Rwanda has become the latest country to suspend it’s services in Uganda following an upsurge in the covid 19 cases. It should be recalled that the United Arab Emirates earlier this week suspended a number of flights from African countries Uganda inclusive.
Earlier this week President Museveni declared that most public sectors be put on hold partially for 42 days. This came after the worrying covid 19 cases that have claimed a number of lives and left thousands sick.
In an official notice from Rwanda airlines, the statement read “Due to a surge in covid 19 cases in Uganda, Rwanda Air announces the suspension of it’s flights to Entebbe effective 10 June 2021 until further notice.”
The airline apologised to its affected customers. It also reassured them that they could fly at a later date when things normalize.
“RwandaAir sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused. Affected customers can rebook and fly at a later date, once flights resume at no additional cost- or request a refund.”
The government has continued to rally people to observe the SOP’s and also take vaccination seriously.
