“I was not happy with Gen Saleh giving money to promoters. He would have given musicians money first before giving money to these promoters,” the self-styled ‘Katonda wa ragga’ said.
Apparently, OWC gave music promoters billions of shillings as COVID 19 stimulus package. These funds however were unfairly distributed which brought about different factions amongst promoters.
The Pomini singer also urged the government to set clear guidelines aimed at safeguarding people who will be enjoying in bars and other entertainment centers.
Bafana further said that the government should open bars and concerts as they contribute a lot to the country’s economy. President Museveni revealed that he will reopen the economy fully in January 2022.
Musicians however have continued to plead with the government to have their sector opened in the festive season.
These have maintained that it’s in this period that they make lots of money. They further added that they will need this money so much to shake off the Covid-19 effects on themselves.
Ragga Dee talks about musicians in Gulu
In other news, the veteran musician Daniel Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee came out to talk about Gen Salim Saleh’s letter that stopped artistes from travelling to Gulu.
A few days ago, the Operation Wealth Creation Coordinator issued a letter blocking musicians from travelling to Gulu to meet him without appointment. Ragga Dee however came out to reveal that the letter isn’t to block musicians from travelling to Gulu.
