Sama Sojah Reveals He Slept On Streets On His First Time In Kampala

Upcoming singer Sama Sojah has narrated how he came to Kampala and ended up sleeping on the streets. He said that is not what he expected but he thanked God that he managed to survive and still fulfill his dreams of becoming an artiste.

Sama is a talented male vocalist and songwriter. However, he hasn’t blown up in his career like it should be. The singer said he is kind of laid back, people who know his music appreciate it.

He wishes more Ugandans would appreciate his work, this would definitely feel better.

According to Sama Sojah, being in the music industry hasn’t been easy. He said he came to Kampala not knowing anyone but wanted to enter the studio and sing.

Unfortunately, the phone number they had given him to try and contact the studios was not answered. This made him find himself on the streets and he couldn’t go back home. Everything he had there, he had sold it to get money to record a song.

“I can’t forget my first day of coming to Kampala, I slept on the streets. I actually stayed there for some time because I didn’t know anyone and I couldn’t go back home I had sold everything,”

It should be noted that a lot of upcoming singers face it rough while climbing the music ladder. Some even give up before smelling any scent of success.

The same can be said about any other career. There is usually the “struggling phase” where only the strong survive.
