SC Villa Continues To Struggle As They Take On Wakiso Giants

As SC Villa is fighting to survive relegation, they have taken a short trip to face off with the hosts, the Wakiso Giants. They head into this game with a sharp focus on winning in order to ease their relegation worries.

Their last game ended in a 3-1 loss to URA FC and are currently positioned 12th with 22 points, only 2 above relegation.

SC Villa faces Wakiso which is nursing its own wounds after a 2-1 loss to Onduparaka FC in their previous outing. Coach Alex Gitta has also demanded an answer to the loss from his players.

He, however, doesn’t believe that Villa is struggling. Therefore, he told them the mentality is to approach the game as if they are against an actual giant.

“Regardless of what is happening there, for us, we take the game as one against a giant club. Not only in Ugandan football but on the continent. The mentality of the lads is that we have a tough game against a very good side and must do everything right. This is if we are to get all three points which are our target especially when we play at home,” Gitta said

He said the reason Wakiso performed the way it did against Onduparaka is that they had just returned from a marathon of five games in 15 days which made them fatigued.
