Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire said that the fire started when the students were attending preps. In the better news, however, he revealed that no student got injured or lost life during the outbreak.
The Headmaster of Bilal Secondary school Sheikh Muhammed Kamoga confirmed the accident. He further reassured the parents and stakeholders that they didn’t lose any students, however, the fire gutted student property.
The fire at Bilal Islamic S.S located in Bwaise in Kawempe Division comes after recent reports that the school has registered a surge in student enrollment.
Apparently, reports show that student turn up for enrollment at the school for the new term has been very high. This has left parents and the school staff overwhelmed.
The school discipline committee chairman Sheikh Hassan Mutumba said they founded the school and built it on a strong Muslim foundation.
He also said it shall continue promoting high discipline and religious values. This is to ensure that all students that pass through their school get the best values of education for a bright future.
