Sexual Relationship Between An Artist And Manager Could Limit Growth

Do you know that a sexual relationship between an artist and their manager could limit career growth? Many musicians have mixed business with pleasure thinking it could perhaps work out. Little do they know that this is just for a moment. Of course, we can’t take away the fact that it has worked for some people and they have no regrets at all.

There are many problems in this kind of sexual relationship. First of all, if you land on a very jealous manager, your movements will be limited. The moment your moves are limited it means, the public won’t relate with you so much. You will find that you can’t go for interviews, can’t perform in any concert and slowly your career will die. Your manager will manage you for himself and not the music bit of it.

We have seen many artists who have fallen out with their former managers. Some have made it through and most have never recovered. Leila Kayondo has never been the same since she broke up with SK Mbuga. Same for Sasha Brighton who just couldn’t co-exist with her manager. These ladies are talented but just because of one simple mistake, it’s like they have never made hit songs.

However, this is not the case with Naira Ali, they have been together with her manager since way back. The good thing with these two is that they met before the music. So, the relationship has no strings attached. Someone has to be really mature if they are going in for this. Lines have to be drawn, and there must be mutual understanding.
