“You are saying Togikwatako [don’t touch it], are you the one who brought it?” she asked a group of residents who attended her consultative rally at the close of last week.

“You know that if we don’t touch it, it will smell,” the soul singer turned politician repeated, sending the crowd into bouts of laughter.

“Tell me you pastors and preachers, can you preach from the bible without opening it [kugibikula],” she queried as women shouted, clapped and cheered her on.

Babirye said the whole idea is about development for Ugandans are concerned about services, peace and stability.

“Whether you want or not, we will touch it, we will open it and we will amend it,” she emphasised.

Turning to women, judith reminded them of dark days of the past when they suffered with children under terror regimes.

“This is about you women. Don’t take us back to the days of wars. We don’t want to run around with our children and saucepans. We want peace.”

She then went for her famous analogy: “Women, you know that even if you fight your co-wife for having a better big bum, it will never reduce,” she sent the crowd into another rounder of endless laughter.

Babirye then sought to apply the same analogy to the opposition politicians in the country.

“You [opposition] must accept as Museveni’s co-wives, that he has a bigger bum than you. When he wiggles his butt, no one comes closer. He is better than all of you.”

“We will touch it,” she reiterated, narrating that by the time she grew up, President Museveni is all she has ever known.

“He is the one I support. I would never have gone to parliament without Museveni. What are you talking about?”
