Shame As Thugs Rob 72-Year-Old Pilgrim In Kampala

It’s really such a shameless world when thugs without any thoughts decide to rob a 72-year-old woman on a pilgrimage. This is what happened to Agatha Nyinabutagwira who had captured the attention of many during the Uganda Martyrs celebrations.

This is after she was one of the many who trekked on foot to Namugongo. Agatha came from Fort Portal to Namugongo on foot.

Her resilience and determination really inspired a lot of people. Even while at Namugongo, she was guided to sit in the VIP section. After the celebrations, well-wishers contributed some money for her to board a bus back to her home.

This was not to be entertained by the shameless thugs in Kampala who way laid her in town.

She got robbed clean around the Old Taxi Park and got stranded at Mutaasa Kafeero plaza.

“Remember the 72-year-old pilgrim who walked from Fort Portal to Namugongo. Well wishers had contributed some money for her transport back today. She’s just been robbed in downtown Kampala near the Old Taxi park. She is now stranded at Mutaasa Kafeero,” NBS journalist Daniel Lutaaya revealed.

This caused alarm and concern among the journalist’s Twitter followers. This prompted him to follow up the matter and later learnt that she was in good hands.

She got taken in by a gentleman in Buloba who assured that she was in good hands although shocked. Daniel added her number since some people had showed interest in helping her.

“I have traced Jajja Agatha. A Good gentleman from Buloba has taken her in for the night. I have spoken to him and he says she is fine with him and his family. I have also spoken to Jajja Agatha herself and she is fine although in shock.

I’ve asked for her number since many of you wanted to know how you could help her. It’s 0787 732751 in her own names Agatha Nyinabutagwira,” he further revealed.

Its a sad and sickening world that we are truly living in if people have the audacity to rob such a person. Meanwhile the Police also reported several cases of theft at Namugongo Martyrs shrine.

This implies that not all people who go there are after prayers, some are indeed induced by evil.
