News came out yesterday that the Nakyuka singer had thrown in the towel and parted ways with the label that has parented her for close to 8 years.
Kato Lubwama however feels that Sheebah won’t get another manager that understands her better than Jeff. He further said that the singer doesn’t have the money to sustain her in the game.
The Diamond Ensembles production boss also said that even the timing Sheebah decided to exit the label is worse.
This is because it’s at a time when the pandemic is ending. Therefore a lot of activity in the music industry will be going on.
“It’s absurd that Sheebah has decided to part ways with Jeff Kiwa. I however don’t think she will get a better manager than Jeff Kiwa. He’s been with her for long and understands all her needs. Besides she doesn’t have the money to sustain herself in the music industry because it’s a lot. Managers do a lot of the donkey work to see an artist become successful although they go unnoticed.” You can even see what happened to Radio&Weasel after Jeff left them. Although Radio died, Weasel is still struggling to cope up but they had even fallen. With the pandemic ending, there will be a lot of work to do and Sheebah mistimed her exit from the label,” Kato Lubwama said.
He also said that as Federation of Performing Artists in Uganda (FEPAU), they are going to talk to Sheebah and Jeff. This is to see if the two can be reconciled.
Meanwhile, it’s reported that Sheebah is set to get new management and start her own label. TNS is also set to unveil a new artiste to replace Sheebah.
