It happened days after UNCC banned her from performing on any stage in semi-nude attire.
In the concert, she came on stage in a traditional respected dress known as Gomesi. Fans were surprised but as she performed she stripped it off and remained in her normal dancing costume.
Baganda and other people weren’t happy with her. They called her out for disrespecting Buganda and their respected dress code. They even asked UCC to take action against her and other international musicians with vulgar music.
According to Sheilah Gashumba, that doesn’t make sense to her. She posted on her social media platforms saying that Rita is an exceptional talent and deserves bigger stages.
She brushed off the claims that she was disrespectful by saying that she did so well and represented Uganda very well.
“We don’t deserve Rita Dancehall!! What a performance!!! 🔥🔥🔥I tell her every day that she deserves bigger stages!!! Well done Rita!! Shouts out to Ewil Brenda for representing the slim mummies too! Uganda has great dancers!,”
It should be noted that there are many dancers in Uganda. However, only a few get a chance to perform on big platforms with international musicians.
