Singer Big Eye Slams Artiste’s Obsession With State House

Singer Big Eye Starboss real name Ibrahim Mayanja is not about to get on the same page with artistes under the Ugandan National Musicians Federation (UNMF). He said that they are not working towards helping the whole entertainment industry, they are just obsessed with state house looking for money for personal use.

The singer made this statement after multiple meetings of UNMF artists at state house. Some musicians have even had one on one meetings with President Museveni himself.

Big Eye could have been one of these people but unfortunately, he left the ruling party for the opposition NUP led by Bobi Wine.

Ever since he left, he cut ties with some of his friends who support the ruling party like Eddy Kenzo. He calls them out every time for their wrongdoings.

According to the singer, he has been against the federation ever since it was started. He slammed the artistes saying that they are letting down fellow musicians who believe in them.

He wrote;

“I’ve been against the Federation from day one. These musicians in the federation are just obsessed with the state house and I think that is their main aim. I don’t think the music industry is going to benefit from the federation per say,” he said.

It should be noted that Eddy Kenzo himself is unmoved by statements like this. He said that people who criticize him in public come in privacy to the federation to get some help.

It should also be noted that Kenzo promised the get the copyright law worked on within a few months. It however now looks like his focus has changed into something else, rubbing shoulders with Ministers and lingering around state house. The singer seems to have allowed politics to sway him from the original plan.
