Solomon Kampala Excited After Joining US Track Team

Uganda’s 18-year-old Solomon Kampala Nyanzi Kyagulanyi has had a steady rise in his athletics career. Solomon’s athletics career kicked off in the early years at St Mary’s College Kisubi. He engaged in a number of trials under the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF).

In recent developments, Solomon, son to NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu joined the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Track team in the United States of America. He joined the “Islanders” and has since expressed gratitude for the feat.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and I am also very excited to start my collegiate track & field career at the Division One level. The future is bright, Go Islanders!” Kampala exclaimed.

Solomon Kampala is expected to improve his times of collegiate track and field sprints off at division one level.

He will achieve improvement through constant training drills with other experienced athletes, coaches and other trainers.

The youngster won bronze earlier this year in the 200m race during the Ultimate Race Nights in Dubai with a personal best timing of 23.09 seconds.

Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Track Team has over the years produced affluent athletes in long and middle-distance races.

However, the university also has other sports disciplines like hockey, archery, soccer,basketball among others.
