Special Funeral To Be Held Today For Mutebile At Kololo Independence Grounds

A special funeral is going to be held for the late Governor Bank of Uganda, Prof Mutebile at Kololo Independence Grounds. President Museveni is expected to grace this occasion as the guest of honor.

Parliament, yesterday, Thursday held a special session for Mutebile where legislators hailed him for the role in stabilizing the economy.

This session even brought back former parliamentarians just to pay their last respects to the fallen Governor.

Philip Kakuru, the patron of the NRM Southern Africa Chapter said the late played a big role in reviving the economy of Uganda.

“He played a big role as one of the architects of our revived economy. He played a significant role in stabilising the economy,”

“We will always remember his interventions in ensuring Uganda has a sound economy that many of us are enjoying. May his soul rest in peace,” Philip added.

He also noted that as the country celebrates the 36th liberation anniversary, the economist is one of the few individuals worth celebrating for the great role he played.

According to Philip, Mutebile also played a great role in ensuring the country has a stable economy it enjoys now.

Yesterday, Mutebile would be making 72 years of age. He however passed on Sunday from Nairobi where he was receiving treatment.

Up until now, many are saying only great things about him. They will lay his body to rest at his home in Omuruhita along the Kabale- Kisoro road.
