Parliament To Pay Their Last Respects To Late Mutebile Today

Members of Parliament are going to pay their last respect to late Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile. The deceased Bank of Uganda Governor passed on Sunday morning from Nairobi.

They hospitalized him on December, 31, 2021 after collapsing due to complications related to diabetes. The news caught the country by storm since most people didn’t know he was even in hospital.

People have been appreciating him for the good work he has been doing while at Bank of Uganda. According to many, he is irreplaceable due to his versatility.

The Deputy Speaker, Anita Among even proposed that government gifts the Governor’s official residence to Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile’s family.

The house in question is a government property meant for anyone holding the office of governor BOU.

Whether that will be looked into since it’s the deputy speaker who has proposed, we don’t know. However, one thing is for sure, many will appreciate the late through his family for the good work he has been doing.

Museveni had just reappointed Mutebile as Bank of Uganda Governor last year. Some people blamed government for not letting him rest which caused his early death.

Meanwhile, a number of former parliamentarians have also showed up for this special sitting.

These include among others, the former vice president, Edward Ssekandi and former Minister Miria Matembe. They will lay his body to rest on Sunday.
