When some people want to complain about anything concerning them or the country, they use social media platforms. Fortunately, they are heard and some issues are worked on without first going through the old ways of approaching people in charge physically.
Therefore, fans always think that celebrities with a huge following on social media are supposed to get involved in these matters. Having so many people believe in them, they are heard first. But in Uganda, when there is a national issue citizens are addressing, celebrities are always quiet. Fans always wonder why celebrities are not involving themselves yet when they need support they cry out.
According to Spice Diana, she would like to get involved, tweet and post about national matters. But she has a management and they micromanage everything she posts. With the contract signed, she can’t just post although she would like because her accounts are strictly for business.
“I am present in the country and I see everything going on social media. But unfortunately, I can’t involve myself in posting like other people because I am under management. The contract I signed I am supposed to use the social media platforms for business not any other thing,” Spice Diana said.
