Many people are facing dire conditions of living due to the pandemic which has paralyzed most economic activities.
The pandemic has led to a lockdowns which is affecting people negatively since they can’t work.
People have resorted to handouts from well wishers, governments and other organizations plus optimizing other means of living.
Musicians in Uganda are some of the people that the pandemic has hit negatively.
They have been on a lockdown since last year when the pandemic first broke out in Uganda.
They have resorted to other means of earning an income since their main source, performances is currently off limit.
A majority have turned to online platforms to earn a living although they decry the protocols.
The singer while narrating her experience said she’s only surviving by God’s mercy.
She also talked about the proposed COVID-19 government stimulus package and how it will be effected.
“To be honest with you, am surviving by God’s grace. God has really been good to me and I think that’s how others see the situation too. The current circumstances are really bad for everyone but regardless we keep hoping and praying. I have been able to earn a little money through my online work which brings in something although not much. Performances look far from now so we have to keep surviving.” Spice Diana revealed.
Many musicians in Uganda have been advised to embrace the online way of carrying out their music business.
However most of these due to illiteracy and laziness have never bothered to learn the mechanisms.
Most of them have had their music exploited by those who understand the business works especially local websites.
