Her latest collaboration though, Upendo, features a singer called Zuchu, who might actually be Spice’s better half. They really do give off the same vibe.
Upendo is a Lingala song and it has opened up Spice to a whole new market. In case one is wondering, there is a very large market for Lingala music out there, and she explores the Lingala genre with a lot of ease.
On Upendo, Spice doesn’t sing the song for novelty purposes, she sings it with purpose and poise. She also offers an impressive take that Ugandan musicians often struggle to pull off. In addition, her vocals on this track are comfortable, which is saying a lot.
Spice Diana seems to have a thing for Tanzanians as this is her second collaboration from that exotic land and counting.
However, as this is a Lingala song, it shows that Spice has the courage to try out something completely unpredictable. It also showcases her versatility to pull it off.
The least you can thank Spice Diana for is reminding us of the genre that it was. And she seems to have figured out a way of catching us off-guard.
