Teen Caught On Video With Boyfriend Allegedly Laughing About Murdering Her Father

Sierra Halseth, a 16-year-old and daughter to former Nevada State Senator has been charged with the murder of her father. This came after a video of her and her 18-year-old boyfriend allegedly joked about ‘’murdering somebody’’ became viral after the father’s death.

Elizabeth Halseth, the mother of Sierra, served as a Republican in the Nevada Senate from 2010-2012.

She became the youngest woman to ever be elected to the Nevada legislature in 2010 at the age of 27 in what many considered a surprise win.

In February 2012, Elizabeth resigned saying she found difficulties in balancing her legislative duties with being a single mother.

‘’I must focus my efforts completely as a mother and a job seeker. I simply cannot provide the level of service to the residents of District 9 they are entitled to,’’ she said in a letter to the governor at the time of her resignation.

Elizabeth and Daniel [the father] were divorced at the time she became a senator. Authorities discovered his body on April 9. His daughter Sierra and her boyfriend Aaron Guerrero have been charged with murder.

Elizabeth has not yet spoken publicly about her daughter’s case.

According to authorities, Sierra and her boyfriend Guerrero conspired to murder her father after he stopped the two from seeing each other. Police arrested the two shortly after they found Daniel Halseth dead.

Police said the perpetrators stabbed him to death and then set his home on fire in an attempt to cover up the murder. The said video emerged this week showing the two joking and laughing about ‘’murdering somebody’’ just days after the murder.

In the video, Guerrero said, ‘’Welcome back to our YouTube channel. Day three after murdering somebody.’’

Sierra Halseth is being charged as an adult despite her age. However, she cannot face the death penalty which is being considered for Guerrero.
