Teso Youths Called Upon To Increase Participation In Development

The Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo, has called upon youths from the Teso region to increase their involvement in development. She emphasized agricultural development and focused on fruit growing.

She said this as she addressed thousands of youths from the eleven districts of Amuria, Bukedea, Katakwi, Kabelabiong, Kumi, Soroti among others. This was during the first-ever Teso NRM Youth Leaders’ summit

The summit is aimed at the final dissemination of the Parish Development Model. VP Alupo asked youths in other parties to join MRM, a party she said is continuing to work for the good of the country.

From Amuria, the youth asked for hand tractors in order to increase participation in poverty and invention programs.

As for those from Kalaki, leaders requested for systematic funding for the youth initiatives. As for the youth in Kumi district, they said they wanted more funding for cattle compensation.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of the National Youth Council, Jacob Eyeru led the endorsement process for President Museveni as the NRM flag bearer for 2026.
