The New Traffic Police Uniform, How Can We Rate It?

Uganda Police Force on Monday unveiled a new traffic police uniform. This they said is in a bid to decrease on the number of uniforms police has been having. Originally, police have been having over 17 different uniforms but they have now gone down to 13. However if rated with the previous uniform, is the new uniform necessary?

The all-white traffic police uniform clearly had its pros and cons but now though, the Khaki version is everywhere. Now it will be really hard to identify the traffic officers compared to last time.

White is a very visible colour and so pronounced compared to Khaki. Maybe because of the white belt and cap, they will still be easily seen by road users.

However, they looked smart in their attire, especially with the new supplemented shoes. Unfortunately, those shoes are for only the highly ranked traffic officers. The other unique thing could be that ladies are going to have ladylike boots unlike previously.

Traffic officers may be happy because white is a complicated colour to maintain. Given the fact that they work along the roads.

The dust, sun and sweat, all make white a very difficult colour to keep. Khaki might work best because keeping it clean is not that much of an issue. These uniforms start to be used today according to the communication from the AIGP, Asan Kasingye.
