People Power- NUP Transition Skipped A Lot Of Scrutiny – Joseph Sabiti

Former senior NBS TV journalist, Joseph Sabiti, has said the People Power – NUP transition skipped a lot of scrutinies and this is why issues are coming up now.

Sabiti says now is the time to ask the hard questions that everyone may have been afraid to ask from the very beginning.

“The People Power – NUP transition skipped a lot of scrutiny because of the emotions at the time. There are a lot of unsaid things behind the scenes. The mystery of that transformation must be put under scrutiny. I wanted to have this conversation with my brother Joel Ssenyonyi here,” Joseph Sabiti said.

According to Joseph, it’s strange how all of sudden People Power just became the National Unity Platform. Unfortunately, at that time, no one seemed to want to ask the hard questions because the political atmosphere was so hot.

Whether the NUP faction is telling the truth or not is now a mystery that probably calls for an investigation.

One NUP faction says by the time Kibalama sold the party to People Power movement, he wasn’t the president. In simple terms, they duped Kyagulanyi and his team.

However, Kyagulanyi’s team insists that they did everything legally and if anything, the case should be taken to court.

However, a veteran Journalist, Baker Batte condemned Kyagulanyi for choosing to work with Kibalama in the dark.

“Kyagulanyi can’t pretend he doesn’t know the character of the person (Kibalama) he was working with. It was wrong for NUP to transact business in the dark. If you seek to provide an alternative, you should be a clear alternative.”
