The response of the public after Minister Peter Ogwang posted about the restoration of the internet was enough to know the minds of people.
“Internet and Social media services have been fully restored. We apologize for the inconvenience caused, but it was for the security of our country. Let’s be constructive, NOT destructive consumers/users of social media” he wrote.
It didn’t sit well with people, the tweet apparently insinuated that people were being destructive which later led to its closure.
“Constructive when so many people are kidnapped, killed and others are nowhere to be seen? Do you take it as something normal?” Someone asked on Twitter.
Most of the people including socialites pledged to stay on VPN. Patrick Kanyomozi the president of “Uganda Sports Press Association tweeted;
I intend to remain loyal to VPN simply for being there for me in the darkest and toughest of times.
Oh VPN,God bless your soul.
