The Twitter Feud Between Bobi Wine And Muhoozi, Is It Childish Or A Good Mistake

The twitter feud between presidential hopeful, Robert Kyagulanyi and the first son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is right now the talk of town. Some people prefer to call it childish while other political activists say its strategic and can be a good mistake.

The first son has always been quiet and minding his business until last year 2020 when he started stinging Bobi Wine. So, is he scared that someone may take his place or it’s his way of campaigning for his father the President.

A few days ago, twitter woke up to a rather controversial tweet from the first son.

“Someone tell this young brother of mine that we are going to beat him very badly in the polls, Ngu ‘Musinguzi’? Mbwenu ogu akasingura ki? ( What has he ever won/ accomplished?) This is an insult not only against Banyankole but against all the tribes of western Uganda.”

This statement didn’t end well because Ugandans saw it as tribalistic.

However Bobi wine fired right back rather humbly than expected.

“One more thing, the Banyankole did not just give me the name Musinguzi, they gave me their daughter (Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi), my wife, and that means I am their son. They are not as hateful and as tribalistic as you are. Stop misrepresenting my in-laws,” he tweeted.

This went on and on and the first son even told Bobi Wine that he doesn’t know the western culture otherwise no one gave him Barbie. Obviously the NUP supporters couldn’t just let this go.

One of them in a tweet asked if Muhoozi had asked for permission from the Kabaka before allegedly sleeping with Susan Nampijja.

In whichever way you look at it, at some level this is publicity as they say there is no bad publicity. Both  have gotten the attention if that was the intent of this.

Whether it’s childish or political. Ugandans are here for it and are ready to defend whoever they want to defend.
