There Would be No Noise About Mao If The Deal Signed Was With NUP – Prof. Baryamureeba

Former Makerere Vice Chancellor, Prof. Baryamureeba Venansius has said there would not be an ounce of noise if Mao had signed deal with NUP.

Prof Baryamureeba says the only reason everyone is talking about Mao is because he signed an agreement with ruling government.

“Had the deal of cooperation been signed with say NUP even without consulting the party organs, there wouldn’t have been the noisy we are hearing. It is all because the deal was signed with the ruling govt.”

Most people though think when it comes to the president, there is always more than what we see. Most times it starts with agreements and the next thing is someone has joined the ruling party.

However, if the agreement were with NUP, people would think opposition us tightening their belt and standing together in Unity.

However, Gen Muntu, the president of ANT says Museveni doesn’t know how to build institutions. Who ever joins him is likely to fall with him in the long run.

Gen Museveni is very unfortunate. By his style and methods, he is a micro manager. He is incapable of building institutions. If he were to leave power today, even his party, NRM would disintegrate. If Museveni can’t build his own party, NRM then what will be the fate of the institutions he is in cooperation with?

Mao has not yet come to say much about what is going on but surely his decision has divided his party.
