Those Who Are Singing Glory And Praises To Kenya Should Wait After Declaration Of Results – Sabiti Joseph

Former NBS Journalist, Joseph Sabiti, has told those who are praising Kenya to first hold up. People especially from Uganda have been praising the unshaken peace in Kenya even in the midst of elections.

Ugandans have been urging the president to pick a leaf from how free the presidential candidates are in Kenya. None is under house arrest. The internet in the country was also not tampered with.

However, Sabiti says it’s still a little too early to praise Kenya. According to him, the battle is always after declaration.

“Kenyans have never had issues at the polling level. It is always after declaration. Those who are singing glory and praises to Kenya should wait for the declaration. I am seeing calm before the storm.”

However, Charity Ahimbisibwe, the executive director of Citizen Coalition for Election Democracy Uganda, CCEDU says Kenya is still ahead in peace regarding elections because they always make reforms.

“Sabiti Joseph is saying we are just singing hallelujah for Kenya; he doesn’t know what happens here. In Kenya, every court ruling made, they go back and institute those things and improve their process. In Uganda, that never happens.”

Meanwhile, some members of the public also told Sabiti before hailing the peace, the freedom expressed in voting is also something. Whether chaos comes after declaration or not, Uganda has something to reflect upon.

NEWSLEXPOINT.com recently reported that opposition politician and NUPspokeperson, Joel Ssenyonyi, commended Kenya for holding peaceful elections in their country so far. Comparing Uganda to Kenya, he said elections in Uganda were like a battlefield.

However, in Kenya, no presidential candidate has been arrested or even restrained in movement as it was here in Uganda during the 2021 elections.
