Uganda's top TV stations come together to fight Covid-19

“Together As One”, Top TV Stations Come Together To Fight Coronavirus

Leading TV stations in Uganda have come together to sensitize masses about the fast spreading Covid-19. Last evening went down in history as the four top media houses broadcasted the same bulletin on their different stations. NTV, NBS, UBC, and Vision media all joined together to create awareness about everything that revolves around the world pandemic, Covid-19.

Though we are at the height of our election period and political news is almost everything, the TV stations aired nothing of the sort during this special bulletin. Every report they read was completely about the deadly COVID-19. This was putting safety before business as usual. It indeed showed unity and oneness when it comes to all the media houses.

If there is anything to celebrate this year, this should be part of it. Lately, people have kind of neglected all the necessary precautions to avoid coronavirus. Public transport users especially don’t care anymore about wearing masks, sanitizing before entry. Some taxi conductors even have the nerve to pack a full taxi with no social distance at all.

This bulletin unmasked every thing that seemed to appear blurry. The fact that any one who gets coronavirus right now has to cater for their bills is so alarming. A minimum of 20 million every week you spend in the hospital is something to think about before wearing your mask on your chin.

We honestly need such intense bulletins to remind us what is at stake when we let ourselves go because we think we are in prison.
